Jeremy Koloski
Behavioral Scientist/Writer/Musician
Jeremy’s overarching goal is to understand, describe, and guide human behavior. Food for Foxes–the short story that premiered on this site–tells the story of a man who is alone and decrepit, but finds solidarity and comfort in the wildlife nearby. Jeremy is also a singer-songwriter whose songs capture the subtleties of human emotion, probe the depths of the human psyche, and grapple with the tragic, yet miraculous, nature of existence.
Jeremy’s quest to understand human behavior led him to quit his job as a software engineer and move to London for a one-year Master’s in behavioral economics. While there, he wrote his thesis on the difficulty of engaging in productive leisure activities. Now, much of Jeremy’s time is spent combing through scientific literature. His knowledge is synthesized in his articles, such as Purity and Perception, which discusses the evolutionary roots of the emotion of disgust and the modern rationale for the value of purity.
Jeremy also enjoys spending time in nature and observing the wildlife. His photography blends his love of art and wildlife into a lasting image.
